Pascal lost the use of his arms and his legs in 2016… However, today, it practises the oar! Like him, much of people reached of handicaps could practise sports, and in particular of L oar.
It is the ambition of this project!
It is following its meeting with Pascal that it rotary drill club of PAPEETE, decided to engage for motor disabilities of Tahiti. You can help it to collect the funds to finance material handisport.
It is not only Pascal whom you can support. It is all the community motor disabilities of Tahiti. Those which practise handisport, those which will practise some thanks to these installations and associations which come to them to the rescue.
The objective of the campaign
The goal of this countryside is thus of stage it lack of means and accessibility of the sport to motor disabilities in Polynesia.
The sport is an excellent way to take again to it control of its body. By financing the handisport, one helps motor disabilities with opening out in spite of their handicap.
The collected funds will initially be used for the installation of one bracket.
The bracket allows the transport of motor disabilities of the dry land to their boat (oar, va' has…). Indeed, this simple action for the valid ones, becomes a true headache when one is in wheel chair. The bracket will simplify this stage and will encourage those which did not dare yet to pass the step.
Support the Rotary drill in its countryside to make the water sports accessible to all.
Pascal was always impassioned of va'a. Today, it is a little more difficult for him to practise it… A serious accident almost entirely paralysed it. Then garage hand and plunger diver at the naval base of PAPEETE, it becomes quadriplegic.
It can also count on its trainer, kinesitherapist and friend, Mathieu Forge, also impassioned sports of oar. He is in addition president of the club of Marara oar. You surely already heard of him, in 2017, at the time of the sporting challenge “oar with Alexandra”
Who is the Rotary drill?
The Rotary drill is an international charity association created in 1905 and which gathers today more than 1.2 million members in the world through more than 35,000 clubs distributed in 220 countries.
The Rotary Club of PAPEETE-Tahiti was created in 1959. It gathers about thirty voluntary animated by the common desire “To be useful initially”, it is the international currency of the Rotary drill.
Very active in Polynesia, the Rotary drill-Club of PAPEETE-Tahiti known and is recognized for its many actions in favour in particular of the children (CHRISTMAS FOR ALL), of the patients (fight against the diabetes and obesity, sensitizing with the cystic fibrosis and the donation of organs, participation in collections of blood), young Polynesian students in their professional insertion (financial support with Polynesian students), etc
The dynamism of the Rotary Club of PAPEETE-Tahiti and its implication in the community were worth to him to be seen delivering by French Polynesia in 2002 the quality of recognized association of public utility (stopped n°1457 CM of October 28th, 2002).
After having supported Alexandra, attack of the cystic fibrosis, in the challenge which she took up year last to carry out a crossing in oar between Tahiti and Moorea, the Rotary Club of PAPEETE-Tahiti chose more generally to support to it development of the handisport in Tahiti taking into account the many existing needs.
By its implication in this field of action, the Rotary Club of PAPEETE-Tahiti tries to have “a real impact” in this field, in the right line of the topic of the year rotarienne 2017-2018.
Concretely, the support of the Rotary Club of PAPEETE-Tahiti results by the support for Pascal within the framework of his next sporting challenge which will take place on June 2nd, 2018, and in the support for the world of the nautical handisport in Tahiti within the framework of a plan for more than one year of development of the infrastructures and existing means for the practice of the nautical handisport.
For this purpose, the Rotary drill organizes an operation of crowdfunding (or participative financing) which makes it possible all to the people to be able, each one on its level and according to its capacities, to give a little money to allow the realization of this objective.
On its side, the Rotary drill will bring itself a financial aid within the limit of a maximum amount of 1.5 million FCFP.
Your gifts and the financial contribution of the Rotary drill, will be invested at 100% with the profit of the development of the handisport in Tahiti: with the Rotary drill, you have the insurance that no expenses of structure or management will be taken on these sums.
